Raising chickens can be a fun and rewarding experience for any backyard farmer. They produce nutritious eggs, as well as organic fertilizer, and are low-cost pets to maintain. Because chickens need room to roam and stretch their wings while still feeling safe, trixie’s chicken coop with a view is ideal for these lively companions. The charming 2-storey design allows your flock to roam inside and outside, upstairs and downstairs, in the sun or in the shade for ideal comfort. However, the sliding door at the top of the ramp allows for restricted access as needed. Upstairs features a sleeping house with a removable roosting pole and pull-out plastic tray for easy maintenance. It connects to a large nesting box which can be converted into 2 separate boxes by inserting our removable divider. Both the coop and nesting box have a hinged roof with locking arm that opens from above for easy access. The close-mesh galvanized metal grid and metal slide latches protect your flock from predators, while the back wood panel shields them from the wind while they stretch, peck and flap. Solid wood construction, galvanized metal, composite asphalt shingles and a weatherproof finish means this coop will endure years of use with very little maintenance. Suitable for up to 2 standard size chickens or 4 bantams. Compatible with trixie’s natura outdoor run with mesh cover item 55965. One year warranty. Color glazed pine. Dimensions 69 by 31 by 42-Inch, mesh door opening 12 by 22-Inch, wood door opening 12 by 12-Inch. Weight 79-pound.

The Perfect Chicken Coop! I am a first time chicken owner and bought this adorable coop for my three Dominiques. The coop is really well made and very sturdy. It has all the perfect doors and openings you could ask for and is very secure. The plastic trays in the bottom of the nesting boxes and under roosting bar make it easy to clean. The roosting bar is a good size and the wire netting on the run has very small holes so snakes are not able to get in. The latches are sturdy and well made. My only complaint is that the instructions for putting it together were not great and only included six pictures to show you what to do. It took about two hours but probably should have taken 45 minutes.

Awesome coop We picked out this coop for Christmas, not from Amazon unfortunately, and love it. I’ve raised chickens for a lot of years as a kid and now that we have a son, we thought it might be a good learning experience/responsibility builder as he gets older. The coop went together fairly easily. The instructions lacked great detail but did the trick. I put it together in the front yard, at night, with a a flashlight and it seemed to go together easily. It will definitely not fit more than a couple chickens. I’ve got 6 chicks in mine right now (turns out it’s a great brooder box with the heat lamp installed) and they have ample space at the moment. What’s nice about this being a temporary brooder is that you can open up more space as the chicks age. I have them contained in the hen house for the time being but will open up the ramp to the screened portion once they are bigger. Beyond that, we’re installing a “run” on the end and then will eventually let them roam the…

Cute. But buyer beware. My 13 year old son and I put this together with ease. My only complaint is ALL the latches completely rusted out in first week. I tried calling TRIXIE and got a voicemail. THis is a small coop. Looks bigger in the picture. IT is perfect for silkies and other hens that like to cuddle. I am hoping that I get help with the latches from the company. If not, I am off to homedepot. I do not want predators to get my chicks or rust to damage the coop.
